What the 10 September release says
The 10 September 2026 Oracle release is a quarterly results statement. Cloud infrastructure, labeled IaaS, is printed at $7.4 billion, up 121 percent in USD. Hardware is a separate line at $0.8 billion, up 15 percent. Capital expenditure for the quarter is $28.5 billion. The release also records delivery of 300,000 GPU and additional datacenter capacity.
Total revenue was $19.3 billion, up 30 percent. Cloud revenue, IaaS plus SaaS, was $11.6 billion, up 62 percent. Cloud applications were $4.2 billion, up 10 percent. Software revenue fell 3 percent. None of those lines is a ship date for your Exadata, ODA, or x86 host.
Fiscal 2027 total revenue is guided at at least $90 billion. A June 10, 2026 release had already set that sales guide at $90 billion. Revenue guidance is not a data-center construction budget. If a Chinese summary says Oracle will spend $90 billion to $95 billion building halls this year, that sentence is the wrong line.
What the 22 September report is
The 22 September 2026 Business Insider story is a news report about a leaked severance document. It describes 546 people in the America Cloud Infrastructure organization, about 7.6 percent of 7,185 names on that document. Data-center maintenance was among the groups named. Oracle did not publish a company-wide headcount for the round.
You cannot scale 7.6 percent to the whole company, and you cannot read it as "the build stopped." Maintenance on a US cloud site is not the desk that confirms a domestic appliance date. This page does not repeat ages or individual job titles from the leak. Those fields do not belong on a deviation sheet.
Three clocks
| Clock | Date | What it measures | Use on the order |
|---|---|---|---|
| FY2027 revenue guide | 10 September 2026 | At least $90 billion of sales | Not a build budget and not a ship date |
| Q1 spend and deliveries | 10 September 2026 | $28.5 billion capital expenditure; 300,000 GPU; hardware up 15 percent | The quarter still shipped hardware and capacity |
| US cloud list | 22 September 2026 | 546 names, about 7.6 percent of one list | News boundary. Do not pause the PO on it alone |
What to write on the order
Leave the promised date on the order. If a seller claims the staffing news moved it, they rewrite the date in writing. Name the family: Exadata, ODA, or a Dell or HPE host for Oracle Database. Cloud capacity and an on-prem box do not share one clock.
A China buyer often receives the layoff note as a WeChat summary before the earnings PDF. Read the summary against the 10 September tables, not against the headline. If the summary's only new number is a headcount, it does not outrank hardware revenue up 15 percent or the 300,000 GPU already delivered. Ask which sentence in the summary is supposed to move the ship month, and make them point at a line in the release.
On a China bid, the deviation sheet cites the 10 September release only. The 13 percent VAT special invoice is a separate commercial line. Do not paste the 546-name story into the technical deviation column, and do not use it to delay the invoice.
Channel net stays pending confirmation. The 15 percent hardware growth is Oracle's reported revenue change, not a discount. Lead time on your site stays pending confirmation until the quote says otherwise. Remaining performance obligations of $664 billion are a backlog figure, not a week count for your city.
How to check
- Write 10 September 2026 next to the earnings release and 22 September 2026 next to the staffing story.
- From the release, note 300,000 GPU, cloud infrastructure up 121 percent, and hardware up 15 percent.
- From the news story, note 546 names and about 7.6 percent of one list. Do not promote that figure to a company total.
- Keep the date already printed on the quote.
- Keep the 13 percent VAT invoice line off the staffing note.
A quote paused on a forwarded headline
Label this as a typical scenario, not as a named customer. The purchase order already names a ship month. Someone forwards a Chinese summary of the 22 September story and asks to hold the box "until Oracle stabilizes," and to hold the invoice with it. The 10 September release, twelve days earlier, already reported hardware revenue up 15 percent and 300,000 GPU delivered. The hold drops the date you had. It does not create a safer one.
The reply that belongs in the file is short. Attach the release. State that 546 is a reported US list. Ask for the product family and the date already on the quote. Sizing Exadata against an x86 host is a different decision.

Name Exadata, ODA, or the x86 host, and send the date already on the quote. TAOHAN separates that date from the 22 September staffing report, and keeps the 13 percent VAT invoice on its own line.
